We had the pleasure of working on a beautiful family residence on the Pfänder in Bregenz, reimagined as a holiday rental after standing unoccupied for some time. The house already contained a curated collection of furniture, decorative pieces, books, and carpets, providing a strong foundation for the design.
Our approach focused on carefully balancing preservation and renewal—deciding what to restore and what to celebrate in its naturally aged state. Working room by room, we introduced subtle updates to the kitchen, including new matte black fittings and refreshed seating, while retaining its original character.
In the living area, we chose to preserve the existing wooden panelling, embracing the natural patina created by sunlight over time. The bedrooms were fully redesigned with updated colours, wallpaper, and new lighting.
Throughout, our aim was to retain the home’s distinctive retro charm while elevating it into a refined, timeless space with a cool, contemporary edge.
